Fishing Method

Gill Netting, Hook and line

Barry Preston fishes out of Mevagissey using hand lines and gill nets. While using hand-lines is very selective and sustainable, he has also improved the sustainability of his fishery by using dolphin scaring pingers on his nets to reduce his bycatch!

Meet Barry in our short film 'Keep Cornwall Fishing' here, wherein chapter 2 Carrick Road Studios join him for the day to learn how he has been affected by the Coronovirus lockdown.
